When someone dies, there is no one way to simultaneously mourn and celebrate their life.

Would you like a formal gathering or something that works for you.

It can be tricky, because not everyone will feel the same way towards the person who has died.

Which is where I come in.

It is my role to co-create with you a service that both honours their life and is truthful to your feelings.

Background

Who am I?

I asked my friends and this is what they said...

Rosemary is:

Compassionate, understanding, funny, generous, empathic, spiritual, kind, intelligent, stubborn/tenacious, happy, an ambivert, an adventurer.

And I'm happy to accept all of those attributes, however, you probably want to know a little more about my skills that would make me the right celebrant for your service.

I have been a therapist - both in the fields of Mind Body Medicine and Therapeutic Counselling - for around 25 years and still work with the occasional client. Yet my life circumstances changed earlier this year when my mum passed away and I need to have more flexibility in my work so I can look after my dad.

After a friend of mine listened to me read my eulogy at Mum's memorial (in front of over 200 people), she said that I would be a good celebrant. She knows that I am insightful with people who are going through life changing events, and she also know that I enjoy writing. Put that together with a growing ability for public speaking, as I always believe there is room for improvement, and here I am.

I suppose it was bound to happen. I spoke at another friend's parent's funeral and have spoken in front of a crowd of workers when I was a counsellor for a mining company. I've also spoken to many a plane full of people as I was twice a flight attendant (once in my 20s and then later in my 40s).

I'm sure there is more about me that you really don't need to know, because all you need to know is that I'm going to find some way to connect with the person you have lost so that they are given the best send off possible.
